English Paper Piecing, EPP, Traveling

Finally, moving into my apartment…

While visiting my son and daughter-in-law in Texas I received a call from the manager of the senior apartment community which I will be calling home. The construction is complete and we can begin moving in!! I am so excited, I will be able to get my sewing supplies out of storage and begin making quilts! I have been working on a Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt. These are the two flowers I finished today. I’ll also be including yellow and pink flowers in my quilt. This quilt will be made entirely by hand.

EPP blocks from a class I took on Craftsy.

These are the blocks we made in class. I will be putting them together into a 9 block sampler. I modified some of the blocks because I didn’t like the original layouts. I had a lot of fun making these blocks.

If you’re looking for a good book on English Paper Piecing I highly recommend All Points Patchwork: English Paper Piecing beyond the Hexigon for Quilts and Small Projects.

I’m back….

I’ve been super busy the last few years and haven’t had much time to work on my website, but now that I’ve moved back home to New York, I’m taking a break from all the things that had consumed most of my time. I’ve added a couple of free pattern downloads. I will be adding additional content over the next few weeks, so please stop by often.

English Paper Piecing

I have discovered a wonderful quilt piecing technique called English Paper Piecing (EPP). I had heard of this technique but never thought it would be something I’d be interested in doing. I started watching Kate on The Last Homely House . She is a wonderful, down-to-earth woman living in the north of England. After watching many of her EPP videos I couldn’t resist trying it. Now I am hooked.
